Sleepless in San Antonio

This little lady is not into sleep.  It has never been her favorite. Why do my babies not appreciate the beauty of sleep?  She hasn't slept through the night in almost a month.  Really, she doesnt sleep through the night often. Sadly, we have finally gotten to the point when she wakes up around 12:30 or so each night we just stick her in our bed. (😳 insert gasp and eye roll here.)  Hopefully she will out grow it someday. I know I'm an enabler.  She is just so damn cute and I'm so very tired.

Freeze Out In '14

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!
The forecasters were right on.  Here is what we ended up with.
It was cold!!!!  We decided to warm up with an indoor beach day. We put on our swim gear and listened to our friend Bob Marley.

Then we made some flip flops for the beach.  Even the four legged siblings got in on the action.

Our beach project was serious business.  It required extreme concentration.

Luca the warrior was up for the task.

Freeze Out In '14-Pre-Game

Prepping for the freeze out

The weather forecasts said that we would end up with and additional 8-12 inches of snow and temps with highs around -10 and lows of -15.  So we did what all snow loving families did...
Scotty and Luca shoveled like crazy as the snow came down sideways

Gia donned the "Icelander Cap." If this looks familiar there is a reason.  Luca wore the same cap during the blizzard of 2011.

Hootchie bundled up while supporting his favorite team!

Titus wanted in on the "Icelander Cap" action

We made snow ice cream.

 and we  Shared the love
If this doesn't scream "I'm having a good time!" Nothing does.

Chippy Hercules Armondo

We have an elf!!!!
Chippy Hercules Armondo made his appearance at our house the day after Thanksgiving.  He was quite the character.  To say the least Luca was not amused by most of his antics.
C.H.A. did things like play with Luca's toys, poo on his cookies, fish in the toilet and various other naughty acts.  I personally think he started off behaving and then caught the crazy bug that seems to run wild in our house. Luca was pretty ticked with just about everything C.H.A. did...Except for when Santa left this letter.

Did I mention he even used Luca's underpants as a carnival ride?  I suppose an elf in your underpants is enough to make anyone cranky.

A Mother's Curse

The three's have been a time of extreme cuteness and fun or extreme temper tantrums.  I know becoming an independent little person is a hard job.  I get it.   But there are some days I wonder where this kid came from. (I usually add expletives to that sentence but shall refrain just this once.) Then I am quickly reminded of my mother's curse

"I hope that someday you have a child just like you."

Well Ma you win.  Please remove the curse I promise I have learned my lesson and more importantly than anything

I AM SORRY!!!

"Over here buddy."

"Look at the camera and say cheese."

"Smile and look at Momma, Luca."

"Right here buddy. Can you find the circle on the camera?"

"Come on Luca just look at the camera."

"Seriously, come on."

'OVER HERE!"
Even very simple things like "Luca look at the camera." become the opportunity to display his ability NOT to do what you want.  We went to see Santa on his train a few weeks ago and this is my feeble attempt at getting my Luca monster to look at the camera.
"Are you kidding me?"

It is as if it hurts him to look at the camera.
Nope not going to do it.

This kid kills me.

My Little Mover

This little lady has decided to not only learn to sit up independently this week but she has also learned to crawl and pull herself up in her bassinette. Now if she would only take a bottle and sleep to sleep in her own bed we would be in business.
I'm fully aware that the last one is my fault.  I need to come to terms with the fact that happy babies need to cry sometimes too.  Just breaks my heart to hear her.  With Luca I had no problems letting him cry it out.  It was second nature for him to scream (some things never change :-) However with her it is a different ball game. I mean really look at this face...

Would you want to let her cry?

Fast Forward

It has been 717 days since my last post on our blog.  WOW a lot has happened since then.  I can catch you up.

We lost our sweet Ellie Girl to
congestive heart failure.

After a bit of a scary delivery we gained our
Sweet Gia Girl.

Our Luca Boy has grown like a weed, talks non-stop, loves tractors, trucks and pewming bad guys.  He is the noisiest, most strong willed little man ever but we wouldn't have it any other way.

We gained this "little" maniac.  Meet Titus. At six months he weighs in at 85lbs.  His hobbies include sitting on Luca and eating Christmas ornaments.

Hutch is still running around like a puppy at 9 years young.  He loves his new brother...most of the time.

With dogs, babies and preschoolers our life is a circus...But is it our circus and we are happy to be a part of it.

 Merry Christmas
From Us To You!!!
